Dr. Rohit Kumar

Dr. Rohit Kumar obtained his B.Sc. and M.Sc. in Physics (specialization in Electronics) from University of Allahabad in 2007 and 2009 respectively. He was awarded Jawaharlal Nehru meritorious fellowship award during his M.Sc. Dr. Kumar received his D.Phil. degree from University of Allahabad in Laser Spectroscopy: Laser induced breakdown spectroscopy (LIBS) in 2015. Dr. Kumar’s research specializations and interests are in the field of Laser Spectroscopy: Laser induced Breakdown spectroscopy, Raman spectroscopy and Opto-Acoustics. He has more than 30 publications in reputed international/national journals, and in conference proceedings. He has presented his research papers at various international/national conferences in India and abroad. He received international travel support grant from Department of Science and Technology, Government of India to present his research work at conference held in Italy. 

Prior to joining the Department of Physics, C.M.P College, Allahabad, India as an assistant professor, Dr. Kumar worked as Guest Faculty in Department of Physics, University of Allahabad in 2016-17 and in 17-18. He worked as Post-doctoral fellow at Institute for Plasma Research, Gandhinagar. Gujarat, India in 2015-2016. Dr. Rohit Kumar was selected for the National Teacher/Researcher Fellowship of Slovakia and worked as Post-doctoral Fellow at Department of Experimental Physics, Faculty of Mathematics, Physics and Informatics, Comenius University in Bratislava, Slovakia. He is life member of Indian Science Congress Association, Indian Laser Association and  Laser and Spectroscopy Society of India.
