The Department of Computer Application was established in 2009, initially named the Dr. Uma Shanker Institute of Computer Application. The department initially started with the DCA O-level, one year diploma program under the aegis of the Institute of Professional Studies at the University of Allahabad.  In the session 2016–2017, the department was sanctioned with three more programs, viz; PGDCA (one-year diploma). BCA (three-year degree program), and CCC (three-month certificate course). However, the department took the initiative to run a three-year degree program in BCA and is successfully running the program. The department collaborated with UPTECH to run a one year certificate course in Diploma in Programming and Software, including O level. Later in session 2023–24, the Department sanctioned a 5-year integrated program of BCA-MCA Data Science from IPS University of Allahabad in accordance with the NEP 2020 format.

Presently, the department of computer applications is running the following programs on a self-financed basis:

1. BCA Three-Year Degree Program (UG): 38 seats

2. BCA-MCA Data Science Program  (Integrated 5-Year Program), 30 seats

3. DPS: (O level) One year Diploma Program : 40 seats

4. Certificate course in Android App development (3 months):  30 seats
