Earn While You Learn (EWYL) Scheme
CMP Degree College has taken the initiative to support poor and needy students under the EWYL scheme adapted from UGC to help students from socio-economically disadvantaged groups earn and support their education, and acquire skills to enhance their employability.
The scheme was proposed by the IQAC and implemented after being approved by the resolution of the Governing Body of the college in December 2022.
EWYL aims to provide students with hands-on experience, develop them for future jobs, and encourage them to diversify their activities beyond the course curriculum. Students will be required to maintain a good academic and conduct record for the continuation of the scheme.

Areas of Work
Library
Arrangement & display of books, issue and return of books.
Laboratory
Equipment handling, maintenance, conduct of practicals (PG/Ph.D. students only).
Office Administration
Data handling, data preparation, filing work, drafting work (Student Section).
Examination Department
Data entry work related to examinations.
Software Development
Developing software modules for various college applications with multiple functionality.
Objectives
- Exploit the immense potential of students as a valuable human resource.
- Involve the students in the management and development of the institution.
- Give students hands-on experience and thereby prepare them better for taking up jobs in the future.
- Encourage young students to learn about the dignity of labor.
- Prevent students from avoidable distractions and engage them in meaningful, positive activities.
- Enable meritorious and needy students to earn a reasonable amount every month to meet their expenses.
Practice of the EWYL Scheme

All departments, sections, libraries, and administrative offices (henceforth termed "hosts") are eligible to benefit from the services of the students under this scheme.

The 'Hosts' would send a requisition to the Coordinator EWYL scheme by filling out the SERVICE REQUISITION Form.

Each interested candidate must fill out a Candidate Registration Form and submit it directly to the coordinator of the EWYL scheme.

Applications of all registered candidates shall be screened by the Screening Committee; all eligible candidates shall appear before the committee for selection.

The convener or in-charge of the host will ensure proper delegation of work, training, working space, and basic facilities; maintain mandatory attendance records; and send remuneration bills to the coordinator office for payment processing.

Students shall be paid ₹100/hr for software development and ₹75/hr for other work, subject to a maximum of 6 hours per week, ensuring jobs are not pursued at the cost of study.

Payment will be made directly to the student's bank account upon submission of an honorarium bill and an attendance-cum-progress report.

A certificate shall be given to the student upon successful completion of services under the EWYL Scheme, subject to satisfactory performance.
