Condolence Message over the sad demise of Former Principal of the College, Dr. Rudra Prakash Srivastava
Former Principal of the College, Dr. Rudra Prakash Srivastava passed away today on 24 April 2020. May God grant peace to the departed soul and bless and comfort his family during this time of grief.
Dr. Rudra Prakash Srivastava was the former principal of the College and head of the Department of Geography. He was popularly known as RP Sir. His professional career started on 14th August 1958, when he joined as the faculty of C.M.P. Degree College, Prayagraj. He worked continuously for three-decades (1958-88) as the head of the Geography Department and made it a model department.
In 1988 he joined as a reader in the Department of Geography, Panjabi University Patiyala, and worked there till 1991. He became the acting principal of the C.M.P. Degree College on 3rd February 1997 and retired from his services on 30th June 1998.
He had a great aptitude for research. He joined the University of Edinburgh, Scotland, UK as a postgraduate student during 1968-70, financially assisted by the British Council and the University of Edinburgh, and mastered the research methodology in Political Geography. Dr. Srivastava was an accredited author of 14 books on Regional, Political, Environmental and Physical Geography. He was the founder secretary of the Allahabad Geographical Society. He had served as a resource person at several NCERT workshops.
