Report on Nanomaterials and Green Energy held on 20/4/2023

Under the Aegis of the DBT Star College Scheme, a lecture on Nanomaterials and Green Energy was organised by the Department of Chemistry, CMP Degree College, Prayagraj. The Chief Guest and Leading Speaker of this lecture were Dr. T. P Yadav, Associate Professor, Department of Physics, University of Allahabad, Prayagraj.it was anchored and managed by Dr Monika Singh. Brief introduction of the speaker was given by Dr Deepanjali Pandey. In this lecture, Chairperson, Principal Prof Ajay Prakash Khare, Convenor, Dr. Babita Agrawal, Organizing Sectaries Dr. Vishal Shrivastava, Dr. Akram Ali, and Dr. Ranjit Kumar were present. On the stage, Dr. Sunanda Das, Dr. A.K. Shukla, Dr. Mridula Tripathi, Dr. Santosh Srivastava and our speaker Prof T.P. Yadav. In this lecture, Dr. Arti Gupta, Dr. Praveen Tripathi, Dr. Ashok Kumar Ranjan, Dr. Pramod Kumar, Dr. Atul Bhardwaj, Dr Pravin Kumar Singh and Dr. Amita Pandey were present and Prof T.P. Yadav sir explained applications of nanomaterials in various fields. He also elaborates all the synthetic methods for nanomaterials and very interestingly described the molecular arrangement in diamond graphite, single-walled graphene and multi-walled graphene. How nanomaterials differ from bulk materials is briefly explained in his lecture. The lecture proceeded with various techniques like XRD, SEM, TEM, STM and SEAD ect. How global warming affects the quality and quantity of our life is discussed with lots of examples. He also gives a brief introduction to future world energy demand. A vote of thanks was given by Dr. Mridula Tripathi. 260 Students actively participated in this lecture.
