An online lecture was organized by the Department of Zoology on “Studies on Pathophysiology of Reproduction”
An online lecture on “Studies on Pathophysiology of Reproduction” was organized by the Zoology Department of CMP College under the aegis of the DBT Star College Scheme on 1st February 2021 from 11 AM to 12 PM. The lecture was delivered by Prof. Amitabh Krishna, UGC-BSR Fellow, Department of Zoology, Institute of Sciences, Banaras Hindu University, Varanasi. The lecture was held under the chairpersonship of Dr. Neerja Kapoor, compered by Dr. Anuradha and organized by Dr. Ashish Kumar Mishra and Dr. Nidhi Tripathi.
Dr. Vinita Jaiswal, Convenor of the Department, formally welcomed the speaker and all participants. Dr. Neerja Kapoor provided a brief bio-sketch of the speaker. Dr. Amitabh Krishna started his lecture by discussing the gradual increase in male infertility over the last few decades. He elaborated the mammalian testis and its manipulation for the betterment of life. He concluded by highlighting the major causes of male infertility such as environmental toxins, radiation, pollution, heavy alcohol consumption, stress, obesity and diabetes mellitus, etc. The vote of thanks was offered by the Department Coordinator, DBT Star College Scheme, Dr. Uma Rani Agarwal. The lecture was attended by 100 students and all the faculty members of the Zoology Department.
