Department of Law is an intellectual and a quality hub for legal studies in Prayagraj. It was established in the year 1972. Presently, the Law faculty is situated at 12/4 Kamala Nehru Road, Prayagraj. The Law Faculty offers LL.B. (Hons.), B.A.LL.B. (Hons.), LL.M. and Ph.D. courses. Approximately 1500 students are enrolled in the Law Department in various courses. The department has nurtured numerous legal luminaries, Supreme Court and High Court justices, outstanding advocates, political leaders, policy makers, and trend-setters in various fields. The department has a rich teaching faculty of 19 teachers holding expertise in the areas of Constitutional Law, IPR, Gender Justice, Forensic Science, Criminal Law, Human Rights, Administrative Law and Labour Laws. LL.B. (Hons.) and B.A.LL.B. (Hons.) course are recognised by the Bar Council of India while LL.M. and Research are recognised by the UGC. 

The Deparment organises National seminars, Moot court competititons, Youth Parliaments, Special and Invited lectures time to time to enhance the communication as well as advocacy skills of the students. 

The Department offers dedicated learning, knowledge creation, adoption of best practices and research.

•To contribute in the justice delivery mechanism

Objectives of the Department:

  • To make the students aware of laws prevailing in India and their practical implications through seminars and visits.
  • To inculcate advocacy skills among the students by organising moot courts.
  • To develop personality and communication skills among students through debates, youth parliaments etc.
