The Department of Medieval history, originally the Department of History was established in 1955, has played a very prominent role in the academic activities of the college since its inception.There were distinguished faculty members in the Department. In 1966, The Department of History bifurcated into two seperate Departments: the department of Ancient
Indian History and the Department of Medieval History. At present there are 04 permanent faculty members from almost all the specialized fields of Medieval History. One of the department's most notable faculty member was Dr.Satyendra Nath.

COURSES OFFERED:
To meet the interests and objectives of students,the Department of Medieval History at CMP Degree College offers an extensive number of academic programs. The Bachelor of Arts(B.A.) degree in Medieval History offers a strong foundation in the subject area for undergraduate students,encompassing subjects like the History of Modern World, the Cultural History of India
and the History of Medieval and Modern India. Students who complete this curriculum will have a solid understanding of both medieval and modern history as well as critical thinking abilities.
The Department provides a Masters of Arts(M.A.) program in Medieval History for individuals who want to learn more about the topic in-depth. Students in this postgraduate program have the option to concentrate in a number of fields,such as Historiography,Economic History of Medieval India, History of Modern Europe, History of U.S.A., among others. In order to prepare students for professions in academia, research and public policy, the curriculum fosters advanced research abilities and analytical thinking.

In addition, the department provides a Doctor of Philosophy(Ph.D.) degree for students who want to conduct original research and advance the study of medieval history. Ph.D. applicants work diligently on extensive research projects that probe important questions in medieval history under the direction of eminent faculty members, making significant contributions to the academic community and society at large.

DEPARTMENTAL LIBRARY:
The Department has its own library where the books are gifts from the department`s teachers and former faculty members. It contains books that are distributed to PG-level students.
The department's commitment to academic excellence is further exemplified through its research and initiatives. These includes research activities, seminars, and workshops. Students have the opportunity to engage in collaborative research projects and gain exposure to cutting- edge developments in the field.
