Code of Conduct
General Library Rules
- 1. All users/readers are required to maintain discipline in the library.
- 2. Every user entering the library is required to sign the visiting register.
- 3. Must assure silence in the library.
- 4. Seek permission of the library staff before entering the stack room.
- 5. Smoking, eating, sleeping and talking loudly are strictly prohibited inside the library.
- 6. Personal belongings like umbrellas, bags, laptop bags, helmets, etc. must be kept in the racks at the entrance.
- 7. Readers should not damage, write on, or mark any library material.
- 8. Readers are responsible for any damage to books/materials and must replace them or pay their value.
- 9. Mechanical reproduction of any book without the librarian's permission is strictly prohibited.
- 10. Heavy downloading of e-resources using robots or any such technique is strictly prohibited.
- 11. Students must obtain a "No Dues Certificate" from the library before examinations (yearly or semester).
- 12. Switch off mobile phones or keep them on silent mode inside the library premises.
- 13. Follow instructions given by the librarian or staff at the counter.
- 14. Readers who fail to comply with these rules may be deprived of library services.
- 15. The librarian reserves the right to suspend membership of anyone found misbehaving or abusing staff.
- 16. No visitor or guest may use the library without the librarian's prior permission.
- 17. Members caught tearing pages, stealing or mutilating books will be suspended and face disciplinary action.
Borrowing Guidelines
Rules for Issue / Return of Books
Books are issued for 15 days at first instance.
Only one book will be issued at a time against a student's Library Card.
Check the book for defects at the time of issue and report any damage to staff.
Return books on or before the due date; reissue is possible only if not in demand.
General reference books (encyclopedias, dictionaries, directories, etc.) are not issued.
In case of loss or damage, the user must replace the book.
Underlining, marking or folding pages in a book is strictly prohibited.
Borrowed books must be protected from rain, dust and insects, and returned in the same condition.
Students should not issue books to others using their own name.
The Librarian is free to recall any issued book at any time.

- Filled membership form
- Original fee receipt
- Identity card
- ✓ After registration, a Library Card will be provided for the issue of books.
